Daily Bible Verse - 8/14/2007 - 1 Corinthians 15:58

NIV Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
KJV Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
NASB Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.
1 Corinthians 15:58
Commentary
The hope of resurrection makes all the efforts and sacrifices in the Lord's work worth it. No work done in His name is wasted in light of eternal glory and reward.

Paul didn't usually stay in a town longer than a few weeks, but he made an exception for Corinth, a busy port city full of international travelers who might hear his message and take it home with them. Paul stayed in Corinth for two years, then returned after writing 1 Corinthians, during his third missionary trip.
