You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. How do you view your identity as a follower of Christ? Is it as a good church goer? Or reading your bible everyday? Jesus goes past all of that and calls us the light of the world. Do we see ourselves as a force that illuminates all that is around us? Notice that the light is based upon a life that is lived for those around us to see. True spirituality is not based upon religious observance, but upon bringing the reality of God to the places that need to know that God cares for the world.
