| Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

| And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

| Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.

Commentary
Paul reminds his readers that rewards are certain, but not immediate. One does not harvest a field of wheat the day after it is sown. Likewise, in the spiritual realm, rewards will follow faithful sowing in due time. The apostle has argued at length that such works cannot justify (2:16) or sanctify (3:3) anyone. However, good works are, in fact, an important fruit of the life of faith (5:5) that God has planned for each believer (Eph. 2:8-10).
