Commentary
A seed which is sown in the earth perishes, but from that seed comes a new plant (vv. 37, 38). In the same way, the earthly body dies and decomposes. The resurrected or glorified body of the believer is related to the old body in some sense, but it is also a new creation altogether. Indeed, it is called a spiritual body (v. 44).

The Greek term translated spiritual here refers to a body directed by the Spirit, as opposed to one dominated by the flesh (2:15; 10:4).
