Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. |
And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. |
Being kind to one another means being generous, empathetic, friendly, benevolent, and gentle. A tenderhearted person is empathetic and loving toward all. Our Savior possessed all these qualities.
We are to open our hearts to others. We are instructed to forgive as Christ forgave us. Not forgiving your brother causes anger and bitterness to dwell in your heart.
Love, joy and tenderness cannot overflow from a bitter heart.
