Such is the end of all who go after ill-gotten gain; it takes away the lives of those who get it. |
So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; which taketh away the life of the owners thereof. |
So are the ways of everyone who gains by violence; It takes away the life of its possessors. |
Proverbs 1:19 |
Commentary
This particular passage deals with the attempt to get rich through violence (see verses 8-18), but the application is wider. Any get-rich-quick scheme is included.

this verse is short yet it has a lot of meaning. some live their lives trying to achieve worldly and empty things. however, what we dont realize is that by spending a great amount of our time reaching for these things sometimes we loose sight of the things that God has given us and thus, loosing a day, week, month, or even year of our life searching for emptiness.
I love that u chose this today. It eased some 'why Lord' i had in my prayers.
