Proverbs 13:20 - He who walks with the wise grows wise

NIV He who walks with the wise grows wise,
but a companion of fools suffers harm.
KJV He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.
NASB He who walks with wise men will be wise,
But the companion of fools will suffer harm.
Proverbs 13:20

We become wise by associating with those who are wise, both peers and teachers. Conversely, to associate with the foolish is to destroy oneself.

The selection of friends (Proverbs 12:26) is extremely important. Pressure from peers is much stronger than many people realize.
