Proverbs 15:32 - Whoever heeds correction gains understanding

NIV He who ignores discipline despises himself,
but whoever heeds correction gains understanding.
KJV He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding.
NASB He who neglects discipline despises himself,
But he who listens to reproof acquires understanding.
Proverbs 15:32

Commentary

Refusing to listen to godly instruction and discipline oneself is self-destructive. While it is a natural reaction to be defensive to corrective counsel, the wise will accept and heed such godly correction and discipline from their friends and fellow believers.

Galatians 6:10 - Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people

NIV Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
KJV As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
NASB So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.
Galatians 6:10

Commentary

Paul's point is that the believer's entire life provides the unique privilege by which he can serve others in Christ's name.

"the household of faith" / "family of believers"

The household of faith includes all who are saved, without regard to denominations or divisions. Our kindness is not to be limited to believers, but is to be shown to them in a special way.
