Luke 18:26-27 - The things which are impossible with men are possible with God

And those who heard it said, "Who then can be saved?" But He said, "The things which are impossible with men are possible with God."

And they that heard it said, Who then can be saved? And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.

Commentary

Who then can be saved: Jesus answered this question by explaining that the change of heart one must experience in order to know God is possible only through Him. Any person who enters the kingdom does so only by the marvelous grace of God (John 3:3).

Psalm 127:3 - Children are a gift of the LORD

Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him.

Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

Behold, children are a gift of the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward.

Commentary

Psalm 127:3 tells us that "children are a heritage," meaning they belong to God. He has a destiny and purpose for each of them (Rom. 8:28). Therefore, the privilege of motherhood rests not just in the bearing of children. The true privilege comes from being entrusted with the faithful stewardship of the life-gifts of God, who will one day act as His agents, both now and through eternity (Rev. 5:10; 22:5).
