Proverbs 19:3 - A man's own folly ruins his life

NIV A man's own folly ruins his life,
yet his heart rages against the LORD.
KJV The foolishness of man perverteth his way: and his heart fretteth against the LORD.
NASB The foolishness of man ruins his way,
And his heart rages against the LORD.
Proverbs 19:3

Commentary
How many times has a person wandered off in self-destructive folly, only to cry out to Yahweh for help to pull him out of his trouble? Time after time God may reach down in grace to extract a fool from his folly. But there is no guarantee that he will always do so.

Matthew 18:20 - For where two or three come together in my name

NIV For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.
KJV For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
NASB "For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst."
Matthew 18:20

Commentary
To meet "in His name" means by His authority, in acknowledgment of all that He is, and in obedience to His Word. Wherever two or three are gathered in recognition of Him as Lord and Savior, he is there in the midst.
