Put away perversity from your mouth;
keep corrupt talk far from your lips.(NIV)

Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.(KJV)

Put away from you a deceitful mouth

Did you know?

Telling lies was called "flattering lips" (Ps. 12:2) or "lying lips" (Ps. 31:18). On the other hand, the Bible mentions "joyful lips" (Ps. 63:5) and "righteous lips" (Prov. 16:13), or speech that honors and glorifies God.
